We are a full-scope Optometric Eye Care Center, serving the New Tampa, Wesley Chapel, Lutz, and Land O' Lakes areas. Excellence in Eye Care, LLC is located inside the Costco, adjacent to the Premium Outlet Mall and you do not need a Costco membership to see the doctor.

Dr. David F. Scamard, O.D.
Dr. David Scamard, O.D. is an optometrist with more than 20 years of experience. He obtained his Doctor of Optometry Degree from NOVA Southeastern University College of Optometry in 1999. Dr. Scamard received five Clinical Honors from NOVA Southeastern University.
He has been in practice for many years and specializes in contact lens fittings, pediatrics, and sports vision. He has had previous private practices all in the Tampa Bay area. He has also done mission work in South America and provided eye care to those in rural areas.
Dr. Scamard is the owner of Excellence in Eye Care, LLC and always strives to make his patients happy. He has been the optometrist at Costco since they officially opened in 2017. Many of his patients have been following him for over 10 years because of his dedication, knowledge, and ability to perfect their prescriptions.
Dr. Carson J. Woolwine O.D.
Dr. Carson Woolwine, O.D. pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of South Florida and earned his Doctor of Optometry Degree from Nova Southeastern Optometry School. He has been practicing in the greater Tampa Bay area since 2016. And in 2022, he became an integral part of Excellence In Eye Care by partnering with Dr. Scamard.
Driven by a passion for health wellness, Dr. Woolwine is an advocate for physical activity and has a keen interest in exploring various parts of the globe, cultivating a deep appreciation for diverse cultures.
Dr. Woolwine's commitment to eye care coupled with his dynamic interests, reflects a well-rounded individual dedicated to the eye health of his community.
Here at Excellence in Eye Care, LLC, we offer diabetic eye exams, exams necessary for driver's license purposes, retinal imaging, and more! It is important that you see an optometrist once a year to make sure your eyes are healthy and your prescriptions are up to date.
Dr. Scamard also sees patients as young as 6 months old. We are partnered with the Infant-SEE program and offer FREE eye exams for children between the ages of 6 months to 12 months!
